Contrary to some religious ideals of an immaculate Demiurge, the Greek Pantheon mirrored the unpredictable nature of Greek society, and thus the gods had supernatural abilities paired with anthropomorphic personalities. Raphael Biography Raphael Santi (Raffaello Sanzio) (1483–1520) Italian Renaissance painter, born at Urbino. Son of a court painter, his mother died in 1491 and his father in 1494.
